Meet Kevin

Have you ever asked yourself - Who am I, what am I doing with my life?

I know I did a few years ago.  You see I left school at 16.  I was what was termed "an average" student. Not sure what I wanted to do with my life, I went into a job doing nothing to enhance my future. After a bit of mucking around I was invited by my dad to go farming, and after a bit of persuasion, made the decision that ultimately was the best one I could have made at the time.

I learnt things as a farmer, about the seasons, the way of life and what’s important, but I also discovered that I could learn how to direct my life in ways that worked for me.

I got my head around budgeting and strategic planning. Although this wasn't easy - it gave me the experience to make some pretty big decisions in terms of money, friendships and family relationships.  Eventually I got into  a position to make some pretty big choices about the future I really wanted for the second third of my life.

I was in my mid 30's when I started training as a coach, which then lead me to deciding that if I was going to make any difference in this world, it had to be through working with young adults and families in trouble with each other.

The reason I decided on that line of work as a coach was because I could already see my own kids as well as my clients' kids and their friends struggling to get motivated, set some objectives for themselves post leaving school and to get onside with their parents at this critical time in their lives.  Just like how I had been at that age.

I also spent a lot of time with adults with young people in their lives who were making them old and wrinkled before their time, just because they didn’t know how to talk with each other enough to understand what each other needed within their family situations.

I remembered how uncertain and difficult those years between 14 and 21 were for me, and realised that I was lucky enough to have had my dad take me firmly in hand and help me sort out my future.

The questions I had then about what I wanted and how I was going to get it sometimes kept me awake at night, and I’m sure it worried the heck out of those around me too.

Thankfully I answered those questions and am now teaching others how to do the same.

 ...What is your life worth?

FLAG__6_.jpgWho is Kevin Mayall Now?...As you know already my name is Kevin Mayall – I’m in my mid 40’s and I live in Hamilton which is in the North Island of New Zealand.

I run a private life coaching practise working with young adults and their parents. I work with adults preparing to move from study to 'life'! I also help students with career paths. This teaching made me realise that the need for this service was overwhelming and it was global. This is why I sat down and thought about how to take it to others , people like you. People that wanted to make a change, get some direction and create a life that was REAL not just a hyped motivational seminar.

I am a Kiwi. Being born and raised in New Zealand but owning businesses overseas and travelling has given me a slightly different perspective on things than perhaps some other coaches...

Why? Because of the uniquness that New Zealand has as a country. A difference that is not found in many other places in the world. Why me? What is so special about me? I hear you asking yourself these questions... the answer is easy -

Why should you trust my coaching style and skills?

I am a Kiwi. Being born and raised in New Zealand but owning businesses overseas and travelling has given me a slightly different perspective on things than perhaps some other coaches.  New Zealand is a place not like anywhere else in the world. Kiwi’s are known internationally for our tenacity, creativity, guts and determination and of course our ‘kiwi ingenuity’. So it stands to reason that we are good thinkers, doers, and innovators.  This is the attitude I start every single day with, and…

I AM JUST LIKE YOU..

jandals__2_.jpgSeriously, I am. I just live in a different place and made different decisions... read more below but before you do, here are a few of the things that makes me as a New Zealander or Kiwi, different:

  • We live in a truly Multicultural society - teaches us about tolerance

  • Our country is Geographically remote - teaches us resilience and innovation

  • We have a relatively Small population - gives us room to be alone and think

  • Our Natural landscape - teaches us to be more physically active and interact with the environment

Being a Kiwi makes me proud,
Being a man in this century makes me aware
Being focused on the youth of today makes me hope

I have been happily married to Julie for many years, and have four fantastic children  It wasn’t always such a positive situation, a blended family, working on our farm….but that’s another story completely! Needless to say, my life hasn’t always been this good – Julie is my second wife, and I used to stay awake at night wondering what on earth was I doing with my life..have you ever felt like that? I don't anymore. I am excited about the world. I see many people especially younger people who want to make a difference to the world they live in.

It's truly a fantastic time to be in ....so I say 'Bring it on World -  I'm ready!'
